Shot Tower Park in Queen Village is a historic landmark in Philadelphia. Back in the early 1800’s Shot Tower was built by local plumbers who revolutionized and manufactured musket balls. Originally built to manufacture hunting shots, by the War of 1812, the tower was producing ammunition which continued to be manufactured for the Civil War. The tower was no longer manufacturing by the early 1900’s but now remains a recreation center and city playground for local neighborhoods.
